
High School Student Internship Program
AFC has established a structured internship program for high school students from the local East Bay community. Interns will help support marketing and field operations, offering hands-on learning, a deeper connection to the club, and valuable work experience. Our first cohort will launch on November 1, 2025 and offers meaningful experiential learning for local students that can truly make an impact on the club’s ongoing marketing and operations efforts.
Goals
Our internship program was developed with AFC’s mission in mind to create opportunities and deepen community involvement and supporting the development of our youth athletes.
Provide meaningful real-world experience and mentorship for local high school students.
Cultivate future talent and interest in sports management, marketing, and operations
Create a pathway for student’s to retain real world skills, confidence, and resumes for future academic and career paths.
Deepen community and member-family engagement with AFC’s mission of creating opportunities, developing excellence, inspiring our community.
Program Structure
[Duration]
Six months (roughly November 2025 – April 2026).
Expectation: 4–6 hours/week, flexible around school schedules, approximately 15–20 hours/month.
[Focus Areas]
Marketing Intern(s): Support digital content creation, social media content, campaign support and analytics tracking.
Operations Intern(s): Assist with event logistics, practice coordination, administrative tasks, coordination at AFC Performance Center and training sites.
[Supervision & Mentorship]
Each intern will be paired with a staff mentor (AFC Board Members).
Weekly check-ins for guidance, feedback, and professional development.
[Eligibility & Disclaimers]
Open to high school juniors and seniors from the current AFC member community.
These are unpaid internship positions for educational purposes for Association Football Club, a 501(c) non-profit organization.
Internship scope of work will be limited to training and learning activities and not core operational duties of Association Football Club.
[Recognition & Incentives]
Completion certificate.
Public acknowledgment via AFC’s digital channels.
Option to receive school credit (subject to school approval).

We will select our cohort of 3 student interns by October 15, 2025 and will notify all applicants of our decision.
